Esther M. Miemietz Rothwell

Esther M. Miemietz Rothwell, 86, Carrington, N.D., formerly of Jamestown, N.D. died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, N.D.

Esther Hust was born October 10, 1915 near Gackle, North Dakota the daughter of Christ and Katherine (Bitz) Hust. She grew up near Medina and attended school there. She worked on several farms in the area.

Esther married Frank Miemietz on September 23, 1934 at Wimbledon, N.D. They made their home in Jamestown, N.D. She worked for Peterson-Biddock Feed for a couple of years and later ran an adult care center in her home until the death of her husband. Frank died on November 16, 1979.

She married William Rothwell on September 2, 1981 in Jamestown, N.D., they continued to make their home in Jamestown, N.D. William died on May 14, 1990. On May 13, 2002, she moved to Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, N.D.

She enjoyed crocheting, she made afghans for all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed embroidery, baking and cooking.

Esther was a member of the Basilica of St. James, the Tabernacle Society, and the Carrington V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Esther is survived by six children, Dorothy (Kenneth) Kracht, of Carrington, N.D.; Luella Croce, of New Rockford, N.D.; Duane (Carolyn) Miemietz, of Jamestown, N.D.; Joyce (Maylen) Buetow, of Rapid City, S.D.; Terri Moran, of Jamestown, N.D.; Michele (Robert) Rockey, of Pewaukee, WI; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Frank Miemietz, 2nd husband, William Rothwell, two grandsons (Jeff and Scott Miemietz), one great granddaughter (Jennifer Kracht), six sisters, and six brothers.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 A.M. - Friday, September 27, 2002 Basilica of St. James, Jamestown, N.D. with Father Steven Reiske officiating.

Vigil: 7:30 P.M. - Thursday, September 26, 2002 Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, N.D.

Visitation: Thursday, September 26, 2002 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, N.D.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery - Jamestown, N.D.
