Esther M. Skattum, 85, Jamestown, ND died at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown on Tuesday, February 14, 2006.
Esther M. Carlson was born on October 31, 1920 on the family farm near Jud, ND the daughter of Emil G. and Elvira S. (Erickson) Carlson. Esther attended country school and worked on the family farm. She moved to Jamestown in 1952 where she was employed at several local cafes including the Jamestown Truck Plaza. She later worked as a cook at the North Dakota State Hospital. Esther became a resident of Central Dakota Village in 2001.
Survivors include 5 daughters, Evelyn M. Kramer, Helen E. Perleberg, and Shirley J. Skattum, all Jamestown, ND, Linda L. Brandenburg, Texas, Sandi L. Sword, Idaho; 2 sons, Robert P., Florida and Kelly D. , Jamestown; 24 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and 1 sister, Eleanor S. Skattum, Buchanan, ND. Her parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother, 2 nephews, a granddaughter and 2 great granddaughters preceded her in death.
Esther enjoyed sewing, baking and making Lefse for her children, and the outdoors especially taking care of her yard and tending her flower gardens.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and 1 hour prior to services at Lisko Funeral Chapel.
Interment: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
