Ethel Krapp, 85, Jamestown, N.D., died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, N.D.
Ethel Margaret Orner was born November 7, 1920, at rural Chaseley, N.D., the daughter of Wilbur and Bessie (Palmateer) Orner. She attended Lake Williams Elementary School, and graduated from Pettibone High School in 1939. She attended Valley City Teachers' College, graduating in 1941, and taught in rural schools in Kidder and Stutsman counties. On November 1, 1948, she married Arnold Krapp in Tappen, N.D., and they settled on a farm in Roundtop Township, near Pingree, N.D., where they farmed, ranched, and raised nine children. In 1988, they retired and moved to Jamestown, N.D.
Ethel was a member of The Basilica of St. James, Jamestown, N.D. She enjoyed reading, music, gardening and devoted her later years to family and friends.
Survivors include nine children: Dwight (Ramona) Krapp, Cincinnati, Ohio; Colleen (Ron) Holzwarth, Buchanan, N.D.; Oren (Connie) Krapp, Pingree, N.D.; Barbara (Gary) Cobleigh, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mary Jo Falck, Fargo, N.D.; Lorna (Robert) Traut, Buchanan, N.D.; Jean (Michael) Seltvedt, Fargo, N.D.; Joan (Bruce) Perleberg, Jamestown, N.D.; June (Joe) Krapp-Detmer, Pingree, N.D.; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant brother, and a granddaughter.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2006, at The Basilica of St. James, Jamestown, N.D.
Prayer Service: 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006, at The Basilica of St. James, Jamestown, N.D.
Visitation: Noon to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006, at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, N.D., and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, N.D.
