Ethelwyn Tinker, 93, Jamestown, North Dakota died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown.

Ethelwyn Bender was born November 4, 1917 in Bradley, SD, the daughter of Charles and Ada (Morgan) Bender. She attended school in Bradley, SD. Upon graduating from high school, she moved to Mitchell, SD, where she attended business college. While living in Mitchell, she met Charles (Charlie) Tinker. On February 6, 1938 Ethelwyn married Charlie Tinker. Charlie worked for Montgomery Wards and through the years transferred to Sheridan, Wyo., Livingston, MT, Bozeman, MT, Yakima, WA with the final move to Jamestown, ND. Ethel was employed at the North Dakota State Hospital Adolescent Unit and retired in 1982. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting a variety of items, working in the garden and canning a variety of fruits and vegetables. Charlie and Ethel enjoyed doing activities with grandchildren including camping, fishing, playing many kinds of card and board games and traveling to visit family in Wyo., SD., and MT. Ethel was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Some of Ethel's most memorable traits were she always had a sparkle in her eye, everyone she met always left with a smile and Ethel was a positive, upbeat, caring, loving and considerate person. Ethel was known for closing out a conversation with, \""I'll do my best\"". She is survived by five children, Mary (George) Russell, Casper, Wyo., Dennis (Mabel) Tinker, Jamestown, ND, Chuck Tinker, Jr., Kivalina, AK, Dorothy (Louis) Stengel, Jr., Underwood, ND, Robert (Peg) Tinker, Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Parliament, Sioux Falls, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, one infant son, Carl, two grandsons, Chad Tinker, Chuck Russell, five brothers, Lyle Bender, Gordon Bender, Charles Bender, Leroy Bender, Harold Bender and one brother-in-law, Clint Parliament.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Temple Baptist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Randy Jaspers officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND.
