Eunice Coles

The funeral for Eunice Coles, age 78, of Jamestown will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday October 3rd, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown. There will be a viewing one hour before the service at the church. Interment will take place 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 3rd at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Anamoose, ND. Arrangements are with the Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Eunice died Saturday September 30, 2012 of natural causes at Valley City Hospital in Valley City, ND. She was born Eunice Hager on May 20th, 1934 to Adam and Ruth (Hanchett) Hager of Harvey. She grew up in Anamoose and attended White School Township where she was a track star. She graduated in 1950.

She had three children from her first marriage to Donald Eckart; two sons Barry and Lowell, and one daughter, Rose. Barry and wife, Sharon and Lowell and wife, Sharon now both reside in Oregon, while Rose makes her home in Sacramento.

In March, 24 1979 she married John Coles in Bismarck, North Dakota. John predeceased Eunice in 2010. Eunice enjoyed cooking for her family, taking care of her flower garden, and embroidering her quilts for future generations. In their 31 years of marriage she and John traveled all over, managing to spend time in every state except for Hawaii. Eunice never could resist stopping at an antique shop and was always filled the couple's van with antique glass wear.

She loved her children, but the lights of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and husband, John Coles.

She is survived by her children Rose Eckart, Lowel Eckart, and Barry Eckart, as well as her 4 sisters Ladonna Goodwin of Anamoose, Shirley Ann Wilson of Texas, Elizabeth Grad of Harvey, and Sharon Lindquist of Williston.
