Eva Dora Berndt, 79, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown.

Eva McMaster was born September 14, 1927 in St. John, ND, the son of George and Bertha (Schneider) McMaster. She attended school in St. John. Eva and her father traveled to Portland, Oregon where she worked in the ship yards. Eva married Bernard Berndt in Plentywood, MT on June 17, 1946. They lived in Towner, ND until 1963, where she worked at the Forestry Department for a number of years. They moved to Jamestown in 1963 and Eva worked at Newman Signs and later at the North Dakota State Hospital, from where she retired. Bernard died April 5, 1979.

Eva enjoyed having neighbors over for coffee, watching TV and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown.

Eva is survived by one daughter, Betty (Ron) Geigle, Jamestown; two sons, Jerry (Sharon) Berndt, Valley City, ND and Dan Berndt, Nisland, SD; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; one sister, Izzy (Rudy) Bozeman, Ft. Shaw, MT and one sister-in-law, Agnes McMaster, Chinook, MT.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Glenn; four brothers, Alexander, Lawrence, George and John and three sisters, Bertha, Mary and Rose.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Friday, August 3, 2007 at the Hi-Acres Manor Memorial Chapel, Jamestown with Chaplain David Fisher officiating.

Visitation: 12:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Burial: 11:00 AM, Monday, August 6, 2007 at Union Cemetery, Towner, North Dakota
