Evelyn J. Bennett

Evelyn J. Bennett, 91, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Saturday morning, June 23, 2018 at Eventide.
Evelyn J. Mannel was born March 3, 1927, in Fessenden, ND, the daughter of Archie and Lena (Orsby) Mannel. She lived on the family farm and graduated from Fessenden High School. Evelyn moved to Jamestown where she attended Northern Pacific Railroad’s Telegraphy School. Working as a telegrapher, Evelyn met Jim Bennett, who was living in Jamestown and later worked for the railroad. They were married on July 23, 1946 at First Lutheran Church, Fessenden. They made their home in Jamestown where Evelyn was an active auxiliary volunteer, helping with blood drives, health fairs, and fundraising events. She also enjoyed playing bridge and bowling.
Evelyn is survived by her children, J. Douglas (Bev) Bennett, Duluth, MN, Steven (Anita) Bennett, Onalaska, WI, and Teri (James) Undem, Jamestown; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother; and two sisters.
Visitation:
2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 27 at Eddy Funeral Home.
Memorial Service : 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 28, 2018 at New Hope Free Lutheran Church, Jamestown.
Inurnment : Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
