Faye Cumber (born Mary Persis Faye McKenzie on May 4, 1936) to Arthur and Gertrude McKenzie at Trinity Hospital in Jamestown, ND. She grew up on the family farm south of Pingree and attended Pingree School. Faye passed peacefully at home on Friday, October 21st with family at her side.
Faye married Ronald (Tony) Cumber on Nov 21, 1980 at the family farm near Pingree and they enjoyed many years of family and travel.
On Dec 1, 1956 Faye married Willard Woodward originally of Barnum, MN. Faye and Willard had six children: Vicki, Jeffrey, Timothy, Bradley, Connie, and Roderick. Willie passed away on Aug 27, 1967.
Faye is survived by her husband Tony, daughter Vicki Anwiler-Parker (David), son Timothy Woodward (Pam), son Bradley Woodward (Dawn), daughter Connie Mills, son Roderick Woodward (Cathy), stepson Richard Cumber (Cindy), stepdaughter Eva Cumber, 19 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Don McKenzie (Katie), Joe McKenzie (Jean), Frances Hayes, Philip McKenzie (Danette), and Susan Kollman (Ken).
She was preceded in death by her first husband Willard, son Jeff, parents Art and Gertrude, granddaughter Ashley, stepdaughter Patty, and her brother Tom.
She was a member of the Catholic Church and for most of her life attended in Pingree and Buchanan.
Faye was quick witted, loved to have fun, and enjoyed her scenic road trips with Tony. She participated for many years in neighborly games of pinochle and Nertz tournaments and always thought the best of everyone and gave of herself. She leaves behind many wonderful friends including her precious and dear friend, Nora Moran, who was her cohort in their many Ole and Lena capers.
We, her family will miss her greatly and loved her dearly. She gave us many wonderful memories.
Mass of Christian burial: 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 27 at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church, Buchanan, ND. Visitation will be 12:00 PM to 6:30 PM, Wednesday, October 26 at Eddy Funeral Chapel with a vigil service to follow at 6:30 PM.
Burial: Pingree Cemetery.
