Faye Schlager, 85, Jamestown, ND died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit in Fargo, ND.
Faye Madson was born June 18, 1928, the daughter of Oscar and Alma (Ouren) Madson. She received her education in rural Robinson. On July 19, 1945 Faye married Albert Schlager at Robinson. They made their home on the farm south of Robinson. In 1960 they moved to Jamestown. Albert passed away October 27, 1994. Faye continued to work in Jamestown at Miller's Fairway and then transitioning to Leever's County Market, continuing to serve her customers until retiring in 2011.
Faye's greatest pleasures included baking cookies for her grand and great-grandchildren, making soup and sharing with her children. Her "little" garden and flowers were a special hobby. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Faye is survived by two sons, Douglas (Michelle Dockter) Schlager, Jamestown and Byron (Debra) Schlager, Burnsville, MN; two daughters, Alma (Robert) Lulay and Illa (Jim) Schaller, Jamestown; grandchildren: Misti (Troy) Beckman, Andover, MN, Chad (Roshni) Schlager, Minneapolis, MN, John (Juliet) Lulay and Lisa Richter, both of Fargo, ND; David, Derek and Danielle Schlager, Burnsville, MN; extended grandchildren: Chad and Amy Dockter, New Hope, MN, Chris and Erin Dockter, Fargo, ND and Melissa and Dean Gilbertson, Jamestown; great-grandchildren: Kayla and Brayden Beckman, Jared Richter, Pasha and Jacob Lulay; extended great-grandchildren: Kylie and Jacob Dockter, Jack Dockter, Taydem, Sierra and Cameran Gilbertson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one granddaughter; three brothers and eight sisters. Faye was the last surviving child of Oscar and Alma.
