Fern Tucker, 97, West Fargo, North Dakota, formerly of Courtenay, died Sunday, April 13, 2003 at her grandson's home in West Fargo. Fern was born December 29, 1905 to Stephen and Millie (Cupps) Hamilton in Foster County, North Dakota. She attended school in Corinne Township through two years of high school and graduated in 1923 from Courtenay High School. After graduation she worked at the Courtenay Bank until 1927 when she married Whitney Tucker. They farmed in Stutsman and Foster Counties until the time of his death in 1963. Fern moved to Jamestown for a short time before residing in Fargo to be near her son Harold. Fern was an active member of the Courtenay Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Joanne Tucker, Fargo, four grandsons, David (Anna) Tucker, Florence, MT; Keith Tucker, West Fargo; Wesley (Tamara) Tucker, Williston, ND, Kermit (Tracee) Tucker, West Fargo, one great-granddaughter, four great-grandsons and one sister, Florence Andersen, Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Whitney, one son, Harold, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral Service: 1:30 PM, Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown with Rev. Bryce Tahran officiating.
Visitation: 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM, Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
