Floreana Nicoletti, 103, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown.
Floreana Patzer was born August 31, 1910 in Polar Wisconsin, to William and Martha (Kieper) Patzer. Floreana moved with her mother and grandparents to Fessenden, ND where she was raised by her grandparents and helped in a cook car for a threshing crew. She met Arthur Davis in Cathay, ND while cooking for a threshing crew. They were married in 1928. They moved to Chicago in 1942, where Floreana worked at a box factory and did laundry. They returned to Fessenden in 1946, where she cooked at the school and also at a café. Floreana moved back to Chicago in 1958, after her youngest daughter, Irene, graduated from high school, to be closer to her oldest daughter, Lola Jean and son, Laurel. At a New Year's Eve dance that year, she met Mike Nicoletti (the love of her life). They were married in 1959, and he became "Grandpa Mike" to all of her grandchildren. In 1976, she moved to Rainbow Gardens in Carrington, ND and lived there until 1983. She moved to Westview Apts., in New Rockford, ND wanting to be closer to her daughter, Vivian Pfeiffer, so she could help at the fabric store that Vivian had opened.
Floreana enjoyed embroidery work, crocheting, and anything crafty. She made many items which she sold thru the fabric store and also at craft shows, as well as making afghans and other items for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In 1988, Flo moved to the Jameshouse in Jamestown, ND where she continued doing her craft work and attend several craft shows a year. In 2010, her family and friends presented her with 100 red roses in celebration of her one hundredth birthday. She was thrilled to see as many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in attendance. Floreana remained living on her own until November 2011, when she decided it was time to move to Eventide Hi-Acres Manor.
She is survived by one daughter, Vivian Pfeiffer, New Rockford, ND; one son-in-law, Edward Munari, Arcadia, Fla.; one daughter-in-law, Alice Davis Miller, Henning, MN; 24 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 28 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, two husbands, two daughters, Lola Jean Quint, Irene Munari, one son, Laurel "Sonny" Davis, two grandsons, Jerry Quint, William Pfeiffer and two sons-in-law, James Pfeiffer and Ralph Quint.
Floreana had a strong faith and was a member of Christ the King Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jamestown. In lieu of flowers, family wishes are for memorials to be made to Christ the King Evangelical Lutheran Church.
