Florence King

Florence King, 85, Edgeley, ND, died Friday, March 24, 2006 at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure, ND.
Florence Irene Beebe was born November 5, 1920 at Diesem, ND, the daughter of Carl and Froni (Bernhagen Jacobson) Beebe. She was raised near Edgeley, ND and attended the Nora Township School. After her schooling, she worked as an outside farm laborer on several area farms. On May 12, 1950, she married Nels Fuher at Edgeley, ND and they made their home in Merricourt, ND where Nels worked for the county highway department. Nels died in 1970. Florence married Lou King in 1970 at Ellendale, ND. They lived in Merricourt, ND for a year before moving to Ellendale where she worked as a cook at the Ellendale Nursing Home for 23 years and was employee of the year twice. Lou died in 1988 and Florence moved to Edgeley in 1991 where she lived until 2003 when she entered St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure, ND.
Florence was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Edgeley where she had been Baptized and Confirmed.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Darrell) Kester, Kansas City, MO; 4 step-children: Mabel Washburn, Edgeley, ND; Lee King, Marysville, CA; Larry King, Merricourt, ND; Shirley Podenski, Gillett, WY; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren and 2 brothers: Walt Jacobson, Tucson, AZ; Alvin Beebe, Sonoma, CA and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, a stepson, a stepdaughter and a step granddaughter.
Funeral - 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, ND with Reverend Alan Eppen officiating
Prayer Service - 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND
Visitation - 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND
Interment - Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND
