Florence Wozny, 98, Jamestown, ND, died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown, ND.
Florence Irene Wozny was born March 1, 1912 on the family farm in Gray Township near Courtenay, ND, the daughter of Frank and Agnes (Nowatzek) Wozny. She attended the rural Gray Township School and attended her freshman year of high school in Courtenay. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1930 and then worked as a stenographer at the Gladstone Hotel in Jamestown. She was later employed in the bookkeeping department of Bridgeman Russell Creamery; the Moline Construction; was the bookkeeper for the Nankin Café during its transition to the Moline Café; was office manager for the Power Appliance Company; was part owner of Earl C. Smith Refrigeration, Heating and Air Condition and was a legal secretary for the Hjellum Law Firm retiring in 1986 after 23 years with the firm.
Florence was a member of St. James Basilica where she sang in the choir for many years, counted the Sunday offering and worked with Effie Boyle on the committee to prepare St. James Catholic Church to become St. James Basilica.
Survivors include nieces and nephews: Margaret Holter Pruit, Phelan CA; Lucille Renier, Minot, ND; John Reeck, Barstow, CA; Donald (DeLores) Reeck, Kent, WA; Eugene (Joan) Cysewski, Courtenay, ND; Thomas (Evonne) Cysewski, Billings, MT; Margie Clemens Thelen, Bella Vista, AR; Sylvia (Charles) Woldum, Bloomington, MN and Angela (Jim) Madsen, Jamestown, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John and 2 sisters: Mary Reeck and Agnes Cysewski.
Funeral - 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND
Prayer Service - 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2010 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
Visitation - 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2010 at Lisko Funeral Chapel and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Interment - Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
