Floy Mcmillan

Floy McMillan, 88, Jamestown, ND, formerly of Grafton, ND, died on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown, ND.
Floy Eleanor Stough was born February 9, 1920 at Beach, ND, the daughter of Dr. Raymond and Floy (St. John) Stough. Dr. Stough died in the same year and she moved with her mother and siblings to Jamestown, ND in 1927. Here she attended school, graduating from Jamestown High School in 1938 and Jamestown College in 1942. On May 17, 1943, she married William McMillan at Jamestown, ND. They lived briefly in Bismarck, ND. Floy taught high school in Carson, ND, the industrial school in Mandan, ND and in Lidgerwood, ND while William was serving in the military during World War II. Upon his discharge they lived in Grand Forks, ND from 1946 to 1948, then on a farm at Fordville, ND until 1961, when they moved to Grafton, ND where they lived until 2005 when they moved to Jamestown, ND. From 1967 to 1983, Floy worked as a social worker at the Developmental Center in Grafton.
In Grafton, Floy was a member of the Fine Arts, AAUW, Retired Teachers Association and was a member of the Federated Church where she served in the women's groups and sang in the choir. She was a volunteer for Hospice and the Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, William, Jamestown, ND; 2 daughters: Kathryn (Max) Dyba, Miles City, MT; Margery (Jim) Michael, Jamestown, ND; a son, William (Theresa) McMillan, Jamestown, ND; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Frances and a brother, Raymond.
Funeral - 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 at United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown, ND.
Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation - 9:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services in the church on Saturday.
Interment - 3:30 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Fordville, ND
