Frances Charlton

Frances Charlton, 84, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Sunday, June 19, 2005 at her home in Jamestown.

Frances Charlton was born August 8, 1920 in Portal, North Dakota the daughter of Arthur and Tina (Keir) Charlton. She attended school in Portal and graduated from Portal High School in 1937 as Valedictorian. Frances worked for Tractor Lug Co. until she developed polio in the 1940's. After treatments, she was employed as a personal secretary to Dr. Anne Carlsen in Jamestown. She retired in the early 1980's.

Frances enjoyed flowers, marching band music, visiting with friends, history and showing her photo albums.

Frances is survived by one sister, Catherine Reeves, Sacramento, CA; two brothers, Ernest of Portal and Arthur of Williston, ND and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, June 24, 2005 at the Grace Episcopal Church, Jamestown with Bart Davis officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 23, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: 11:00 AM, Monday, June 27, 2005 at Portal Cemetery, Portal, North Dakota.
