Lucille Lonski, 89, Kensal, ND, died Friday, August 19, 2005 at Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown, ND.
Lucille Marie Foster was born May 21, 1916 at Monticello, MN, the daughter of John Thomas and Henrietta (Dudley) Foster. She moved with her family to North Dakota where they settled in Roundtop Township, near Pingree, ND. She attended grades 1 though 8 at Roundtop School and then attended Pingree High School. She helped on the family farm and loved horses, especially her favorite horse, Babe. On September 9, 1936, she married Jerome Lonski at St. John's Catholic Church Parsonage in Kensal, ND. A few years later, Lucille converted to Catholicism. They settled on a farm in Nogosek Township near Kensal where they lived, worked and raised their family. Jerome died on March 16, 1997. Lucille remained on the farm until entering Hi-Acres Manor in 2002.
Lucille was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the St John's Altar Society. She was president of the Kensal Senior Citizens for 15 years, a member of the Courtenay Senior Citizens for 20 years, a 4-H leader for many years, treasurer of St. Mary's Altar Society in Courtenay for 23 years, served on an advisory council for Stutsman County Senior Citizens for 15 years and served on the Nutrition Council for 10 years. She belonged to the Wimbledon American Legion Auxiliary, the Royal Neighbors, the Jamestown VFW Auxiliary and a Homemaker's Club.
She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning, baking and traveling with the pickup-camper. She also took care of the church altar linens.
Survivors include 9 children: Richard (Bev) Lonski, Parkville, MO; Blanche (Bill) Gunderson, Racine, WI; Bryan (Janet) Lonski, Battle Lake, MN; Margeret (Francis) Harding, Kensal, ND; Rose (Gary) Davis, Hastings, MN; Gene (Faye) Lonski, Fullerton, ND; Beryl (Shelly) Lonski, Fargo, ND; Martin (Cheryl) Lonski, Minneapolis, MN; Robert (Janice) Lonski, Bartlesville, OK; 30 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Florence (Eldon) Brady, Jamestown, ND; Pearl (Ronald) Olson, Boise, ID; Alice (James) Raught, Tacoma, WA; a brother, Bruce (Myrna) Foster, Connell, WA and a sister-in-law, Myrna Foster, Tacoma, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers: Warren and Wallace and a sister, Mary.

Visitation - 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2005 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday
