Francis Ganser, 74, Cleveland, North Dakota died Friday, February 8, 2008 at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck, North Dakota from complications after surgery. Francis Ganser was born February 18, 1933 at Trinity Hospital, Jamestown, North Dakota to Frank and Elsie (Matosek) Ganser. He grew up in the Windsor/Cleveland, North Dakota area and attended Cleveland High School. Francis married Elizabeth Oliver on October 22, 1953 in Bozeman, Montana. They raised three children together. Francis worked on an associated pipeline for one year, and then worked road construction for Northern Improvement (formerly Noel Company) for thirty-nine years. He retired in 1995, but continued to help the Bair Farms north of Windsor. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, reading, cooking, tinkering, fixing cars and was the ""Duct Tape King"". Francis said he was a ""jack of all trades and master of none"". He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Francis is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, Cleveland, ND; two sons, Mark (Dee) Ganser, Cleveland, ND, Tim (Shari) Ganser, Windsor, ND; one daughter, Sue Ganser (friend, Doug Geeting), Cleveland, ND; five grandchildren, Brian Ganser (fiancé, Karen Miller), Jamestown, ND, Jacy (Jared) Vogelwede, Harwood, ND, Travis Ganser, Casselton, ND, Kaylee (Austin) Lang, Bismarck, ND, Sarah (James) Broderick, Fargo, ND; nine great grandchildren, (Brian) Marissa Norheim, Chase Ganser, Katrina Miller, TJ Ulrich, (Jacy) William Voglewede, (Sarah) Jordan and Jakob Schempp, James Broderick, Jr., Charlie Broderick; four sisters, Betty (Vince) Ament, Annette (Jerry) Carlson, both of Jamestown, ND, Barbara (Allen) Hueseth, Menomonee Falls, WI, Mary (Dale) Zillmer, Henning, MN; two sisters-in-law, Judy Ganser and Carol Ganser, both of Jamestown, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Bob, one sister, Dorothy Ann, and one great grandchild, Madison Hoyt.
Funeral Services: 2:30 PM, Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND with Fr. Joe Barrett, officiating.
Visitation: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 12 at Eddy Funeral Home.
