Frank Mastel

Frank Mastel, 92, Edgeley, ND, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown, ND.
Frank Mastel was born June 20, 1915 on the family farm near Hague, ND, the son of Frank F. and Marion (Scherr) Mastel. He was raised near Hague, ND and attended the country school. After his schooling, he worked on the family farm and later worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps in Idaho. Following his time with the CCC, Frank returned to Hague, ND and on August 9, 1939, he married Magdalena Gefre at St. Aloysius Church in rural Hague. They farmed in Emmons County, near Linton, ND until 1943 when they bought a farm near Edgeley, ND. They retired from farming in 1978.
Survivors include his wife; 9 children: Charles (Roni) Mastel, Edgeley, ND; Donna (Phil) Haas, Arvada, CO; Mag Mastel, Arvada, CO; Dianne Crockett, Aurora, CO; Larry Mastel, Edgeley, ND; Francis (Maryann) Rantoul, KS; Terry (Terry Lee) Mastel, Mandan, ND; Izzy (Ellen) Mastel, Jamestown, ND; Monica (Darel) Leedy, (city, state); 28 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill (Betty) Mastel, Bismarck, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers: John, Casmir, Jake, Balzer; a sister, Margaret and an infant son, Lawrence.
Funeral - 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2008 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND with Father Duaine Cote officiating
Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND
Visitation - 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Friday
Interment - Mount Calvary Cemetery, Edgeley, ND
