Fred, Guthmiller Jr.

Fred Guthmiller, Jr., 89, Jamestown, ND passed away Monday, June 1, 2020 at his home.

Fred was born June 24, 1930 in Sydney Township, ND to Fred, Sr. and Katie (Koenig) Guthmiller. After attending school, Fred worked on the family farm until joining the U.S. Army. Fred served from 1952 to 1954. Upon returning from the military he continued to farm.

Fred was baptized, confirmed and a life long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling in his younger years and loved to have coffee with his friends at Hardee’s.

He is survived by his brother Leslie, Jamestown, ND; sisters Margaret (Jerome) Johnson, Jamestown, ND, Helen Hagel, West Fargo, ND and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary, brothers John, Harry, Albert, Richard, James and Edward.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Salvation Army or Community Action Food Pantry.

Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, June 5, 2020 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Erik Weber officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Home Cemetery.
