Frieda Klein

Frieda Klein, 96, of Tappen, North Dakota, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2009 at the Baptist Home in Bismarck, ND.

Frieda Dietz was born July 13, 1913, in Elliot, ND, the daughter of George and Lena (Dorn) Dietz. The family moved to Canada in 1916, where she received her education. On December 10, 1927, the family moved back to Elliot, ND.

Frieda married John Klein on March 27, 1935 in Moorhead, MN and the two farmed in Ramson County. In 1969 they moved to the Phillip and Alice Mittleider farm near Tappen. Frieda became a very important part of the Mittleider family. A few years later in 1976 they moved into the town of Tappen. John passed away on March 19, 1994 and Frieda continued to make her home in Tappen.

Frieda enjoyed canning, embroidery, patching, baking, flowers and her abundant garden. Every Christmas through 2008, she would always bake many batches of cookies to give to others. The kids would always enjoy going to Frieda's because she was full of jokes. She was a very kind and loving lady and always put others before herself. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Frieda is survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, two sisters, four sisters-in-law and special friends, Phillip and Alice Mittleider.
