Garnet V Perleberg

February 6, 1926 — June 4, 2016

In the early morning hours of June 4, 2016 Garnet V. Perleberg passed away peacefully at her home with her children at her side.
Our beautiful Mother and Grandmother was born to Anna Hochstetler and Albert Fisher on February 6, 1926 (2,6-26) in Goldwin, North Dakota. She went to school at the Paris Township school.
Garnet married George F. Perleberg on May 15, 1943. Their 5 children are Judy (Gerry) Scherbenske, Jamestown, ND, Gary (Celie) Perleberg, Big Fork, Montana, Rita (Nick) Scherbenske, Jamestown, ND, Arthur (Karen) Perleberg, Broadus, Montana, Arnold (Linda) Perleberg, Cando, ND. She has 5 grandsons, 10 granddaughters and 24 great grandchildren. She is survived by all of her children, her sisters, Pearl, Lil, Shirley and her brothers Lee (Ray) and Albert Jr.
Her favorite pastimes were tutoring and mentoring her children and grandchildren. Throughout the years, her favorite hobbies included the annual deer hunt with her husband and sons, playing cards, especially pinochle with her close friends and always preparing a special meal for her family and relatives. She prided herself in exploring new ways of cooking meals, canning, making jelly, soups and treats at holidays. She was a volunteer at Ave Maria Village and every resident enjoyed the twinkle in her eye along with her warm and special laugh.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and United Sportsman of North Dakota where each year she religiously got bird seed to feed her little winter birds.
She was preceded in death by her husband George, a sister Helen and brothers, Elmer, Clark and Lynn. Her mentoring and love will be deeply missed by her family and close friends.
Funeral service: 1:30 PM, Tuesday, June 7 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Pastor Erik Weber, officiating.
Visitation: 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, June 6 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery.
