Gary L. Block, 68, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020 at his home.
He was born September 10, 1951, the son of Norbert and Elinore (Edwardson) Block, in Jamestown where he was raised with four brothers and four sisters. Gary graduated from Jamestown High School in 1969 and worked as a carpenter for several years. He was the proud father of three children: Angela Anderson (Lance Larson), Robert Block, and Amber Block (Davone Mitchell). Gary was a kind, tender-hearted soul who was truly loved by his family. He so enjoyed family get-togethers, playing music, singing with his brothers and sisters, and watching the antics of all the young people, kids, grandchildren, nieces, nephews. Gary also enjoyed woodworking and hunting, fishing, playing his guitar, family games, visiting with anyone, laughing, and shared his opinion on everything.
Gary is survived by his children, Angela Anderson (Lance Larson), Robert Block, and Amber Block (Davone Mitchell); seven grandchildren, Mario, Dusty, Zander, Brynlee, Dylan, Victoria, and Damon; mother, Elinore Block; two brothers, Jerome Block and Brian (Tracy) Block; sisters, Linda (Tom) Ray, Marilyn (Shelby) Flaig, Gloria (Ross) Burkhardt, and Susan Johnson; and sisters-in-law, Sheila Block and Kathy Block.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norbert; brothers, Doug Block and Roger Block; and brother-in-law, John Johnson.
Visitation: 10:0 0 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. , Thursday, February 20 , 2020 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
A private funeral service will be at a later time.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown , North Dakota.
