Genevieve Wilke, 74, Courtenay, North Dakota died Sunday, February 29, 2004 at the Carrington Health Center in Carrington. Genevieve was born February 13, 1930 in Dawson, North Dakota the daughter of Alexander D. and Edna (Anderson) Gregor. She was raised in Dawson, attended school there. Genevieve was chosen to the all-star state basketball team twice, and accompanied her team to four state championships. She graduated from Dawson High School in 1948. She worked in the grocery store and café in Dawson. Genevieve married Gordon Wilke and they farmed on the family farm until 1959. They owned a business in Tappen for many years. In 1973, she worked for Big Jim's restaurant in Jamestown until her retirement and then she worked parttime for the Eagles, Jamestown.

Genevieve was survived by her husband, Gordon, four children, Darwin (Lori) Wilke, Bowman, ND; Duane Wilke, Courtenay, ND; Dilene (Vern) Bruns, Jamestown and Gordy (Tammy) Wilke, Jamestown, a sister, Mary Lou Sutton, Deerwood, MN, a brother-in-law, George Hopkins, Sr., Jamestown, a sister-in-law, Lois Gregor, New York, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, three sisters, Helen Bors, Florence Hopkins and Shirley Eissinger, one brother, Alexander (Buster) Gregor, Jr. and one grandson, Derek.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Thursday, March 4, 2004 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Dennis Ellingsen officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.

Burial: Bethany Lutheran Church, Robinson, North Dakota.
