George Coon

George Coon, 80, Nortonville, ND passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at his home.

George Coon was born May 12, 1942 in Edgeley, ND to Charles and Lucille (Bolstad) Coon.  He attended school in Nortonville and worked for area farmers before entering the US Army on August 16, 1969.  George was honorably discharged on August 1, 1973 and upon returning from Vietnam, he held various jobs including road construction in the region, Haybuster’s and Marvel Steel in Jamestown, Solinger Lumber in Nortonville, caregiver for his brother, Chaine Coon and did construction and carpentry for Dan Schlosser.

George enjoyed going hunting and fishing, especially with Harry Bolstad.

He is survived by his siblings, Charlotte Schweigert, Mary Greshik, Sandra Burkhardt, Florence (Duane) Pribbenow, Ned (Deanna) Coon, Jill Coon (Kenny Geiszler), Janet (Neil) Braash, Daisey Coon, and Chaine Coon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Gerald (Patricia) Coon, Betty Coon, brothers-in-law Darrel Schweigert, Lynn Greshik and Doyle Burkhardt.

Funeral Service – 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Williams Funeral Chapel,

Visitation – One hour before the service at the funeral chapel.

Burial – Nortonville Cemetery, Nortonville, ND.
