George Else

George Else, 83, Jamestown, North Dakota died Friday, January 14, 2011 at Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown, under hospice care. George Robert Else was born October 5, 1927 to Ferdinand and Anna (Blow) Else in Dickey, North Dakota. George attended school in Dickey and country school near Marion. After his schooling George worked as a farmhand until February of 1950. George entered the Army in 1950. He was with the 164th Tank Company in the states and 5th Calvary Tank Company in Japan. He returned to the Dickey area in 1956 again working as a farmhand. George worked for Moline construction in Jamestown. He married Mayda Sailer in August of 1956. George worked in the Jamestown Public School System as a custodian from August 1963 to June 1991. He married Helen Lysne on April 27, 1981. Many family get togethers were spent at Grand Rapids Park, Grand Rapids, ND. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown. He enjoyed dancing, traveling, and playing cards.

George is survived by his wife, Helen, Jamestown, ND, five daughters, Gail (Duane) Doll, Vicki (Bob) Thu, Lori (Larry) Hoff, all of Jamestown, ND, Roxanne (Jeff) Warring, Tempe, AZ, Rebecca (Joe) Thomas, Columbus, ND; two step-daughters, Susan (Jim) Bond, Jamestown, ND, Jo (Kevin) Beach, Carrington, ND; two Step-sons, Larry (Shelia) Lysne, Fairbanks, AK, Glen (Jenine) Lysne, Oriska, ND; seventeen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren, sixteen step-great grandchildren; one sister, Luverne Olson, Oakes, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, three sisters.

Funeral Service; 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Ruth Kaden officiating.

Visitation; 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday, January 17, 2011 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service; 7:00 pm, Monday, January 17, 2011 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
