George J. Lavey

George J. Lavey, 74, Jamestown, North Dakota died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Jamestown Hospital in Jamestown.

Mr. Lavey was born October 5, 1931 in Jamestown, the son of Louis and Leone (Crosby) Lavey. He received his education at St. John's Academy in Jamestown. On June 8, 1951 George entered the US Navy and served his country during the Korean conflict. He was honorably discharged on June 1, 1955 and returned to Jamestown where he has lived all his life. He worked for 32 years in food service at the North Dakota State Hospital.

He enjoyed reading and sporting events.

George is survived by two sisters, Mary Lou (Fred) Fennern of Bismarck, ND and Shirley Flynn of Punta Gorda, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Memorial Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, October 6, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel with Father Al Bitz officiating.

No visitation is scheduled.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
