George R. Lee, 74, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Saturday, November 2, 2002 at Meritcare Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota.
George R. Lee was born June 10, 1928 near Montpelier, North Dakota, the son of Carl J. and Alda L. (Gray) Lee. He grew up in the Montpelier area and attended school there. He farmed with his father for a time. He later worked for Melland's Implement, Jamestown and also did steel building construction. On September 30, 1953 he married Agnes T. Wenzel in Moorhead, Minnesota. That same year he went to work for the North Dakota State Hospital and worked there until 1979. He later opened Lee's Tune Up and did small engine repair until his retirement in 1993. Agnes died January 14, 1997. He enjoyed tinkering on engines, taking care of his yard and visiting with his friends.
George is survived by his four children, George Jr.(Renee) Lee, Park River, ND; Linda (Michael) Watkins, Jamestown, ND; Gregory Lee, Grand Forks, ND; and Gloria (Pat) McCarthy, Watkins, CO; 4 grandchildren; brother, Carl A. (Carol) Lee, Fort Belvior, VA; and sister, Marian (Merlin) Mueller, Mesa, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, Clayton, and sister, Virginia.
Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 7, 2002 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, North Dakota with Rev. Bryce Tahran officiating.
Visitation: Wednesday, November 6, 2002 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, North Dakota.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
