George P Williams

George P. Williams, 89, of rural Cleveland, ND, passed away Wednesday evening, September 4, 2019 at Eventide.

George was born September 10, 1929, in Jamestown, the son of George A. and Helen DeNault-Robertson. He grew up on the family farm south of Cleveland and married Lorraine Wolff on November 18, 1951. George was inducted into the US Army at Fargo, ND on January 17, 1952. He served in France and was honorably discharged at Ft. Sheridan on March 23, 1954 as Corporal. George returned to his family and they made their home in Cusator Township, Stutsman County farming and raising livestock. He and Lorraine enjoyed collecting antiques for many years, even being featured on the Antique Roadshow. George was a member of the American Legion, Eagles, North Dakota Potteries; Red Wing Society; Cast Iron Seat Assoc. and St. John’s Lutheran Church.

George is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lorraine Williams; son, Jay (Jan) Williams; grandson, Kord (Jeanna Barrie) Williams; great-grandchildren, Lesly (Paul) Salzbarrie and Madison Murphy; sister, Kay (Norman) Aldinger, Jamestown; brother, Roger (Jolana) Williams; sister, Robina “Tiny” (Alvin) Exner; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Kassey Jo Williams; brothers, Almon (Deloris) Williams, Ernest (Violet) Williams; Wilbert (Marge) Williams, James “Tuff” Williams, and a brother in infancy; sisters, Harriet (Elroy) Weixel and Margaret (Reinhold) Weixel.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Jamestown with Pastor Joel Winckler officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 9, 2019 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 9, 2019 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
