Georgetta G. Rumer

Georgetta G. Rumer, 87, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown. Georgetta Wellman was born March 23, 1916 in Griggs County, near Wimbledon, North Dakota the daughter of George Albert and Etta Mae (Miller) Wellman. She attended schools in Fargo, Jamestown and graduated from Wimbledon High School in 1934. Georgetta married Carl Rumer on October 15, 1935 at at the family farm in Uxbridge Township, south of Wimbledon. She worked at the courthouse in Valley City before her marriage and then farmed with her husband for 35 years.

She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Wimbledon. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and visiting with her friends.

She is survived by one son, Arlen (Kay) Rumer, Wimbledon, ND and two daughters, LaVonne (Vernon) Anderson, Jamestown, and Carol (Jack) Davis, Tucson, AZ, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one sister, Fern Rumer, Valley City and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Christ, Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral Service: 1:30 PM, Saturday, May 31, 2003 at St. John's United Methodist Church, Wimbledon with Rev. Michael Ward officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Friday, May 30, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home and one hour before service at the church.

Burial: Prairie View Cemetery, Wimbledon, North Dakota.
