Gertrude ""Tootie"" Mayer, 85, Minot, North Dakota, formerly of Jamestown, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center in Minot.

Gertrude Perleberg was born October 29, 1920 in Buchanan, ND, the daughter of Robert and Amelia (Buetow) Perleberg. She received her education in rural Buchanan area schools. On September 18, 1939 Tootie married Rienhart Ronald Mayer in Jamestown. She was active in their family business, Mayer Truck Line, Inc., from 1947 - 1961. She lived in Jamestown all her life where she raised her family, as well as her niece, Carole Cousins. She enjoyed her retirement, especially spending time at her retirement home on Lake BelleTaine near Nevis, Minnesota.

Tootie enjoyed country music, dancing, fishing, playing cards and she loved to read.

Tootie is survived by her four children; Ronald (Lynda) Mayer, Jamestown, SuEllen (Martin) Brown, Rugby, ND, RaeAnn Mayer (Rollin Carlson), Park Rapids, MN and Holly (Delton) Hust, Minot, ND; eight grandchildren, Jason (Cara Davis) Mayer, Anne-Kristen (Tony) Partlow, Dylan (Sally) Schauer, Wendy Fuglestad, Michael Fuglestad, Robert Fuglestad, Kiley (Levi Andreas) Hust and Lynsey Hust; seven great-grandchildren, Zeta & Ellie Mayer, Riley, Presley-Anne & Brooklyn Partlow and Abigail & Annabelle Schauer and three sisters, Eleanor Krause, Jamestown, Lillian Cassidy, Fargo and Emogene Stoppleworth, Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rienhart, parents, five brothers and one great-grandson.

Funeral Service: 2:30 PM, Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Dennis Ellingsen officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND.
