Gertrude Louise Slater

Gertrude Louise Slater, 87, Jamestown, N.D. died Sunday, January 5, 2003 at the Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, N.D.

Gertrude Edlund was born March 17, 1915 in Newell, S.D., the daughter of Joe and Anna (Fredland) Edlund. She grew up and received her education in South Dakota.

She married Charles S. Slater on March 25, 1932 in Rapid City, SD. They ministered in South Dakota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota as Assembly of God Missionaries.

Gertrude is survived by her children, Mary Hunt, of Danville, NY; JoAnn Nichodemus, of Onamia, MN; Sandra Anderson, of The Delles, OR; DuWayne ""Shelby"" Slater, of Kenmore, WA; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a daughter Ruth.

Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. - Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at the First Assembly of God Church, Jamestown, N.D., with Revs. Marcos Bakke and David Bauchspiess officiating.

Prayer Service: 7:00 P.M. - Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, N.D.

Visitation: Tuesday, January 7, 2003 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, N.D.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery - Jamestown, N.D.
