Gladys Schulz, 81, Edgeley, ND, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Oakes Community Hospital, Oakes, ND.
Gladys Gebhardt was born November 30, 1925 on the family farm in Potsdam Township, Dickey County, ND, the daughter of George and Eva (Wiederrich) Gebhardt. She was raised on the family farm and attended the Potsdam Township Country School. After her schooling, she worked for other families in the area until her marriage to Alvin Schulz on January 10, 1946 at Merricourt, ND. Alvin and Gladys farmed on various farms in Dickey and LaMoure Counties until 1961 when they purchase a farm in Ray Township in LaMoure County. They farmed until retiring in 1986, when they moved to Edgeley, ND. Alvin died on July 6, 1990.
Gladys was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Edgeley, including the LWML and singing in the choir. She enjoyed singing, fishing and playing cards with friends. Her family was the most important thing in her life.
Survivors include 2 sons: Dale (Cheryl) Schulz, Center, ND; James Schulz, Edgeley, ND; 3 grandchildren: Todd Schulz, Rothsay, MN; Lance (Marcie) Schulz, Bismarck, ND; Amber (Jeff) Bohl, Grandin, ND; 4 great-grandchildren: Mason, Devin, Alivia and Brennen; and a sister, Laura Smith, Pharr, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Arthur.
Funeral - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, ND
Prayer Service - 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND
Visitation - 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Interment - Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND
