Gotthielf Bitz

Gotthielf Bitz, 84, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown.

Gotthielf was born March 30, 1923 in Kulm, ND, the son of William and Dorothy (Gahner) Bitz. He attended school in the Kulm area. On December 30, 1945, Gotthielf married Violet Anna Aus in Midway township, near Jamestown. Gotthielf worked at West End Hide & Fur and later Jamestown Sand & Gravel as a heavy equipment operator. Violet died May 31, 1962.

Gotthielf is survived by one son, Roger (Gloria) Bitz, Jamestown; five daughters, Linda (Mike) Goodwin, Fargo, ND, Karen (Ralph) Liebold, Edgeley, ND, Sharon (David) Bivens, Las Vegas, NV, Patsy Udell, Yuma, AZ and Kathy (Paul) Wiest, Jamestown, ND; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Freda Olson, Fargo, ND and Rosemary Rockwell, Springfield, MO and five brothers, George (Sally) Bitz, Aberdeen, SD, Edwin Bitz, Glendive, MT, Henry (Donna) Bitz, Burley, WA, LeRoy Bitz, Silverdale, WA and William Bitz, Browning, MT.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one daughter, Nancy Boyce; two sisters, Edna Wanzek and Martha Geroux and three brothers, John, Ludwig and Edward.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown with Pastor Doug Opp officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Friday, August 3, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
