Harold Beckman

Harold Francis Beckman (HB), 90, of Jamestown, ND died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown. Harold was born on April 6, 1924 in Corwin Township, Ypsilanti, ND, the son of Herman and Clara (Domek) Beckman. He attended country school in Ypsilanti and Montpelier High School. Harold married Sophia Schuler on July 1, 1945 in Jamestown, ND. They were married 65 years, Sophia died in 2012. They had moved from Ypsilanti to the Heritage Center in Jamestown.

Harold enjoyed farming in Ypsilanti. He drove school bus in Ypsilanti, and had a trucking company hauling livestock to Fargo. He also was a rural mail carrier for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards, and was the oldest living Eagles member. He also played softball for over 60 years and was an umpire. His favorite pastime was wathcing the Minnesota Twins.

Harold is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Gary) Anderson, Jamestown, Bonnie Bartsch, Fergus Falls, MN, two sons, Gary (Connie) Beckman, Doug (Margaret) Beckman, of Jamestown. Three Grandchildren, Troy Anderson, Alicia Beckman, and Hunter Beckman. Two sisters, Lucille (Jim) Riden, Valley City, ND, Donna (Neil) Weatherly, Jamestown, ND. Two sister in laws, Peggy Beckman, Jamestown, ND, Bertha Bauer, Lodi, CA. Many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister (Laveril Frey), one brother (Earl Beckman).

Funeral Service; 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Good Shepherd Chapel, Ave Maria Village, Jamestown with Deacon Tom Geffre officiating.

Visitation; 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, October 13, 2014 at Eddy Funeral Home

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Monday, October 13, 2014 Eddy Funeral Chapel

Burial; Ypsilanti Cemetery.
