Harold Jolin

Harold Jolin, 90, Edgeley, ND died at St. Rose Care Center, Lamoure, ND on Monday, June 30, 2008.
Harold Jolin was born December 25, 1917 in Edgeley, ND, the son of Wilbur and Tillie (Anderson) Jolin. He began school in Huron, SD where his family lived for a short time before moving to Edgeley, ND. He completed school in Edgeley, graduating from Edgeley High School in 1935. He was inducted into military service in 1941 and was honorably discharged in 1945 with the rank of Technical Sergeant. He served with the 34th Infantry in Ireland and saw combat in North Africa and Italy, where he was wounded in July of 1944.
Harold married Martha Rudolph on September 29, 2946 at the First Presbyterian Church in Edgeley, ND. They lived on a farm in Pomona View Township for 7 years. In 1953, they purchased a farm in Golden Glen Township and in 1975 built a house on the same farm, which is where they have lived until the present.
Harold was a trustee of the First Presbyterian Church of Edgeley, served on the board of the Credit Union, was president of the Bowling Association and a member of the VFW, the American Legion and the DAV. Harold was a dutiful and loving husband and father.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years; 3 children: Kenneth (Diane) Jolin, Edgeley, ND; Carol (Thomas) Kubis, Huntington Beach, CA; Steven (Dory) Jolin, Pontiac, MI; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and a sister, Margie Gleason, Edgeley, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: George, Warren, Donald and 3 sisters: Mabel, Lucille, and Vyonne
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church, Edgeley, ND.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND and 1 hour prior to services in the church on Thursday.
Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
