Harold DeWitte Liudahl, 79, Jamestown, N.D. died Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, N.D.
Harold was born June 17, 1923 in rural Esmond, N.D., the son of Nelius and Marie (Livdahl) Liudahl. He received his education in Esmond and Maddock, graduating from Maddock High School. After leaving Maddock, Harold worked for the FBI under the Hoover Administration.
He entered the United States Navy on October 4, 1943 in Seattle, WA and served in World War II. He was discharged on December 1, 1944 at Sun Valley, Idaho.
Harold married Agnes Holand on February 2, 1947 in Watertown, S.D.
Harold managed several hardward stores in Enderlin, Carrington, and New Rockford. Harold then owned and operated Harold's Department store in Kensal until his retirement. In 1999 Harold and Agnes moved to Jamestown, N.D.
Harold was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kensal, N.D., the John Florhuag Post #103 American Legion in Kensal and Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown, N.D.
Harold is survived by his wife, Agnes Liudahl, of Jamestown, N.D.; two sons, Ronald (Judy) Liudahl, of South Bend, IN; Keith (Beth) Liudahl, of Kensal, N.D.; one daughter, LeAnn (Jeff) Nelson, of Perley, MN; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Albert (Shirley) Liudahl, of Devils Lake, N.D.; and one sister, Agnes Paulson, of Devils Lake, N.D. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, (Reuben, Ove, & Norman) and three sisters (Miranda, Marie, & Nina).
Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. - Friday, November 22, 2002 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church - Kensal, N.D., with Pastor Robert Leiste officiating.
Prayer Service: 7:00 P.M. - Thursday, November 21, 2002 at Eddy Funeral Chapel - Jamestown, N.D.
Visitation: Thursday, November 21, 2002 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Eddy Funeral Home - Jamestown, N.D.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery - Jamestown, N.D.
