Harold Martin

Harold Martin, 74, LaMoure, North Dakota, formerly of Jamestown, died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at the St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure.

Harold was born October 5, 1933 in Drake, North Dakota, the son of Gustav and Caroline (Martin) Martin. He grew up and atttended school in McClusky, ND. Harold moved to Minneapolis for a short time before returning to North Dakota, settling in Jamestown where he lived and worked for many years. On March 24, 1972 Harold married Judith E. Cobb in Jamestown. They lived in Billings, MT for a time before returning to Jamestown where he worked in maintenance at the Gladstone Select Inn before retiring.

Harold loved to cook. He enjoyed gardening, reading and working.

Harold is survived by his wife, Judith, of LaMoure; mother-in-law, Jeanne Cobb, Jamestown; two brothers, Paul Martin, Omaha, NE and Raymond (Elaine) Martin, Minneapolis, MN and one sister, Velma (Howard) Vollmer, Florence, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Robert, Emil, John, Paul and Conrad Martin and three sisters, Rose Martin, Ada Tidd and Ruth Stephens.

Memorial Service: 1:30 PM, Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Grace Episcopal Church in Jamestown with Father Kevin Goodrich officiating.

Visitation: None scheduled

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure or Grace Episcopal Church in Jamestown.
