Harold W. Ratts

Harold W. Ratts, 93, Jamestown, ND passed away Wednesday, June 1 at Ave Maria Village Nursing Home, Jamestown, ND.
Harold Ratts was born November 16, 1922 at Ellendale, North Dakota the son of F.F. and (Della) Ratts. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1942. Harold started farming south of Montpelier, ND from 1940 until 1977, when his son Don took over the farm.
He married Esther Hildenbrand on February 3, 1944 in Jamestown. Esther died November 17, 1975. He married Ida Schuldheisz July 28, 1979 at Montpelier. Ida passed away September 4, 2005. Harold worked for Western Gear in Jamestown and then at Jamestown School District as a custodian until 1988 and was Gideon Treasurer.
Harold enjoyed playing cards, pinochle being his favorite card game. He also called bingo over at the Senior Center in Jamestown for many years.
He is survived by his children; Carol (Gary) Erickson, AZ, Audrey Otto, AR, Robert (Terri), WA, Francis "Frank", WA, Gary (Victoria) MS, Jerry (Kuawana), NC; one daughter-in-law, Jean Ratts, ND; 20 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, 11 brothers and sisters, one son Don and his wife, Esther.

Memorials preferred to Gideon's.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 4 at Montpelier Lutheran Church with Pastor Lucinda Lien, officiating.
Visitation: 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, June 3 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Montpelier Cemetery.
