Harriet Schirber

Harriet Schirber, 100, Jamestown, ND, died Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown, ND.
Harriet Isabel Wilson was born April 17, 1908 in Atkinson, NE, the daughter of Arthur and Clara (Zollinger) Wilson. She spent the early years of her life on a ranch in Nebraska and, at age 9, moved with her family to Owen, WI, where she completed elementary school and graduated from high school. She received a teaching degree from Yankton College and then taught 4th grade in Herreid, SD. On September 28, 1935, she married Aloys F. Schirber in New Ulm, MN. They lived for a time in Minneapolis, MN before moving to Jamestown, ND in 1948. Aloys died on June 6, 1968.
Harriet was a member of St. James Basilica, St. James Tabernacle Society and a charter member of the Circle Cross Riding Club.
Survivors include her son, Greg Schirber, Atlanta, GA, daughter in-law Jean Schirber, Maple Grove, MN two grandchildren: Rick Schirber, Maple Grove, MN and Nancy Schirber Winter, Oak Park, IL and four great grandchildren: Jessica Schirber and Owen, Beck and Gus Winter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Robert and 2 brothers, Arthur and Jack.
Memorial Service - 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2008 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND
Interment - Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
