Helen F. Goter

Helen F. Goter, 89, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Friday, March 30, 2007 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown.

Helen Schultz was born August 1, 1917 in Conklin township, near Woodworth, ND, the daughter of Ernest and Bertha (Petzke) Schultz. She attended rural schools in Conklin township. On September 24, 1935 Helen married Paul Goter in rural Woodworth. They farmed in the Woodworth area all their lives. In 1962 they moved to Jamestown and Helen worked for 20 years as a dorm mother at Jamestown College. Paul died February 24, 2004. Helen resided at Hi-Acres the past couple of years.

Helen was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Jamestown and the St. John's Ladies Aid. She loved to quilt and was part of the quilting group at St. John's. She also enjoyed cooking, flowers, and was an avid gardener .

Helen is survived by her son, Stanley (Ila Jeanne) Goter, Jamestown; her daughter, Gloria Ottem, Fargo, ND; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leonard (Erika) Schultz, Otto (Shirley) Schultz and Oswald (Rose) Schultz and one sister, Elda Koenig, all of Jametown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a son in infancy.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Doug Opp officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
