Helen Nitschke

Helen Mae Nitschke, 90, Jamestown, North Dakota passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 at Eventide Jamestown. Helen Mae Gerdes was born September 15, 1925, in rural Jud, North Dakota to Carl and Lydia (Jahn) Gerdes. Helen attended school in Jud Public School through the 12th grade. On November 23, 1947, she married Alexander Nitschke in Jamestown. Helen enjoyed playing cards, reading and doing word search puzzles. She is survived by her daughter, Mylene (Donald) Lee, Jamestown, ND; son, Rolin Nitschke; two grandchildren, Michelle (Tim) Martin, Jamestown, ND, Sherry (Eric) Benson, Bismarck, ND; three great-grandchildren, Preston, Riley and Shayla Martin, Jamestown, ND; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Nitschke, Jamestown, ND; one brother, John Gerdes, Jud, ND; sister, Ruth Gerdes, Jamestown, ND; two good friends, Deanna Dagan, Melissa Ben; niece, Jay Nitschke and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Norman and Wayne and two brothers.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 13 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.
Visitation: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Friday, February 12 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Jud Lutheran Cemetery, Jud, ND.
