Helen Ranallo, 92, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Friday, October 2, 2009 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center in Jamestown.
Helen Gordon was born February 12, 1917, in Jamestown, the daughter of Oscar and Agnes (Anderson) Gordon. She grew up in Eldridge, ND and was a life long resident of Eldridge and Jamestown. Helen graduated from Jamestown High School and Mrs. Matchles Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper for Gambles and later the White Drug store, Jamestown. On April 25, 1952 Helen married Albert J. Ranallo and they made their home in Eldridge. He died April 25, 1998. She moved into Jamestown and lived at the Gardenette until she entered Hi-Acres Manor in February 2009.
Helen is survived by step-daughter, Jean Hanson, Jamestown; four grandchildren; one sister, Nell Peterson, Springfield, MO; two nieces, Diane (Daryl) Peterson, Springfield, MO; Bev (Fred) Nordquist, Crystal, MN; great helpers and friends, Judy and Gene Rosemore, Eldridge, ND, Duane and Jesse Schultz, Jamestown and special friend, Adeline Grenz, Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and three sisters, Marie Olive, Amy Gordon and Corinne Thiesen.
Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Monday, October 5, 2009 at The Rev. G.L. Riffe Memorial Chapel, Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown, with Chaplain David Fisher officiating.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the chapel
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The Rev. G.L. Riffe Memorial Chapel or Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center, Jamestown, in appreciation for their good care while Helen was a resident there.
