Henry E. Miller, 93, Jamestown, North Dakota died Friday, February 25, 2005 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.
Henry was born September 5, 1911 in Tripp County, South Dakota, the son of Mike and Katherine (Stern) Miller. He grew up and attended school in Tripp County, SD.
Henry entered the service on May 7, 1942 at Fort Crook, Nebraska and was sent to the reception center at Fort Leavensworth, Kansas. He was stationed at Fort Ringgold, Texas to the Ordance Department Detachment. Later he was sent to South Carolina where he was assigned to serve aboard a Hospital ship and at Liverpool, England. He was discharged from the service in December 1944 at Fort Snelling, MN. Following the service he returned to Jamestown, ND, where he was employed at W.H. Noel Company and Everett's Construction Company.
Henry married Bernice Otto on January 27, 1943 in Rio Grande City, Texas.
Henry is survived by his wife, Bernice of Jamestown, three daughters, Ginger (Joe) Campbell, Sammamish, WA; Judy (Gary) Schaible,Forest Grove, OR and Barbara (Marv) Krein, Bismarck, ND, two granddaughters, Pam (Randy) Robbins and Amy Krein; one grandson, Jeff (Kim) Schaible; three great-granddaughters, Kayla, Mackenzie, and Kimberlee, one step great-granddaughter, Ashley, one great-grandson, Marquan Andre, a brother, Walt Miller, Andover, MN and special friends Kevin & Candy Windish and family of Jamestown, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and six sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Jamestown Hospital Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
Funeral Service: 1:30 PM, Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Doug Opp officiating.
Visitation: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
