Henry ""Hank"" Mohr, Jr., 76, Courtenay, North Dakota died Sunday, August 31, 2003 at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo. Hank was born on March 18, 1927 in Rogers, North Dakota the son of Henry, Sr. and Agnes (Davis) Mohr. He grew up between Rogers and Dazey on the family farm. He received his education in rural schools near Rogers. Hank entered the US Army in 1945. He served 23 years in active duty, including WW II, the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. When he returned from the service he moved to Courtenay, ND and worked for Courtenay Motor, the Courtenay Elevator and the Mitchell Brothers Ranch in Pettibone, ND. He married Bernice Mickelson on January 16, 1976 in Aberdeen, SD. He later worked for the Jamestown Park & Rec. Department.
He was a member of the Dazey Lutheran Church and the VFW of Jamestown.
Hank is survived by his wife, one step-daughter, Debra (Ted) Kapp, Jamestown, ND, one step-son, Tom (Kathy) Nelson, Jamestown, ND, 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, two daughters, June (Charles) Conn, Niles, MI and Catherine Mohr, Indiana and three sons, Henry Mohr III and Philip Mohr, both of Niles, MI and Geoffrey Mohr, Washington, two sisters, Dorothy Bryn, Dazey, ND and Vivian (Dan) Olstad, Valley City, ND and three brothers, Alfred (Shirley), Washington; Percy (Jane), Beresford, SD and Donald (Lois) of Madison, SD.
He was preceded in death by parents and five brothers.
Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Friday, September 5, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown with Rev. Bryce Tahran officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Thursday, September 4, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home.
Prayer Service: 7:30 PM, Thursday, September 4, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Dazey Cemetery, Dazey, North Dakota.
