Herman Perleberg

Herman Perleberg, 62, Buchanan, North Dakota, died Monday, March 27, 2006 in Jamestown, after a battle with cancer.

Herman was born May 17, 1943 in Jamestown, North Dakota the son of Alva and Nancy (Mizener) Perleberg. He grew up in the Buchanan, North Dakota area and graduated from Buchanan High School. He entered the US Marine Corps on August 9, 1961 in Minneapolis and served his country during the Vietnam War and later in the Cuban Crisis. Herman was discharged on August 6, 1965 in Yuma, Arizona. On March 20, 1965 he married Linda Taylor in Yuma. They returned to North Dakota in August 1965 and bought a farm northwest of Buchanan. They have lived on the farm since and Herman farmed and ranched all his life.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Jamestown, the ND Cattleman's Association and the Round Top Township Board.

Herman is survived by his wife, Linda, of Buchanan; three sons, Michael Perleberg, Jamestown, Bradley (Terry) Perleberg, Grand Forks, ND and Jason Perleberg, Williston, ND; one daughter, Rebecca Perleberg, Jamestown; eight grandchildren, three brothers, Frank (JoAnne) Perleberg, H. Thomas (Debbie) Perleberg and Wendell (Judy) Perleberg, all of Buchanan; two sisters-in-law, Marlys Perleberg, Jamestown and Barbara Perleberg, New Rockford, ND; a brother-in-law, Kenneth (Glenda) Taylor, Yuma, AZ and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Nancy Sue and Douglas and two brothers, John A. and Floyd Arthur Perleberg

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 30, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Pastor Doug Opp officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Prayer Service: 7:30 PM, Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel in Jamestown.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
