Howard M. Klassy

Howard Matthew Klassy, 65, Cleveland, North Dakota, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at his home.

Howard was born November 26, 1943 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, the son of Howard W. and Mary (Sinclair) Klassy. He was raised on a farm south of Cleveland, where he farmed with his father until his father's death. He then continued to farm with his mother, until 1984 when he started beekeeping. He worked as a beekeeper and farmer for the rest of his time on earth. He also drove for the North Dakota School for the Deaf for 18 years.

Howard enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, the outdoors, coffee, cooking, visiting and spending time with his many grandkids.

Howard is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ann Klassy, Medina, ND and Mary Kay (Derek) Carlson, Cleveland, ND; one son, Matthew (Danelle) Klassy, Moorhead, MN; two granddaughters, Mercedes Van Vleet and Vanessa Van Vleet; one sister, Mary Em (Jerry) Guenther, Dickinson, ND; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Karen Sam.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating.

Visitation: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Saturday, April 18, 2009 and 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Cleveland Cemetery, Cleveland, North Dakota, in the spring.
