Howard Wagner

Howard Wagner, 87, of Carrington, ND formerly of Pettibone, ND, died Saturday, September 28, 2002 at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, ND.

Howard was born June 2, 1915 at Amery, Wisconsin, the son of Hiram E. and Neeloo B. (Garner) Wagner. In 1917 the family moved to Rhame, North Dakota, where his father was a teacher. The family later moved to Perth, North Dakota and in 1926 settled in Pettibone, North Dakota. Howard attended school in Pettibone graduating from Pettibone High School in 1936. He moved to Oregon where he worked on a cattle ranch and for the railroad unitl 1940 when he returned to Pettibone, North Dakota and started farming. He married Anna Morlock on February 13, 1944 at Pettibone. They moved to Pleasant Valley Farm where he farmed and ranched until his retirement in 1981. They moved to Jamestown, North Dakota in 1998. He entered Golden Acres Manor in Carrington in July of this year. They wintered in Texas for several years. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing, reading, watching sports, and most of all enjoyed his family being around him. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Pettibone and the Pettibone Senior Citizens Club.

Howard is survived by his wife, Anna, Jamestown, ND; 5 children, Hubert (Joady) Wagner, Pettibone, ND; Barbara (Loren) Wentz, Hebron, ND; Janet Jacobson, Bismarck, ND; Dale Wagner, Pettibone, ND; and Gail (Warren) Wagner-Jewett, Jamestown, ND; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, one brother, Hubert (Kathleen) Wagner, Missoula, MT; and 2 sisters, Marie Suckut, Bowdon, ND; and Hope (James) Mathisen, Bailey, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, son (Don Jerome) infant daughter (Mary), sister (Thelma Aasland) and son-in-law (Richard Jacobson).

Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Pettibone, North Dakota with Rev. Mark Schlamann officiating.

Prayer Service: 7:00PM Monday, September 30, 2002 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.

Visitation: Monday, September 30, 2002 from 9:00AM to 9:00PM at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Pettibone, ND.
