Ida K. Krein

Ida K. Krein, 93, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Jamestown Hospital.

Ida K. Krein was born March 4, 1915 in Lehr, North Dakota. She was the youngest child of Wilhelm and Fredericka (Dollinger) Koepplin.

Ida graduated from Lehr High School in 1933 and moved to Lodi, California, where she worked for two years. She returned to North Dakota and married Lloyd B. Krein on September 16, 1935. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1985. Lloyd died on November 6, 1993.

Ida worked at Preds Department Store and the Fair Store for several years. In 1954 Lloyd and Ida started Lloyds Motors. Ida was the bookkeeper for more than thirty years and received many awards from Chrysler and Toyota.

She was a member of the Jamestown Seventh Day Adventist Church and had served as S.S. secretary, treasurer, Deaconess and church clerk. She was also active in the fruit sale project.

Ida was a member of the Jamestown Hospital Auxiliary and for many years made phone calls for the Telecare program.

She is survived by her son, Larry and wife, Kelly, of Jamestown; son, Douglas, of Valley City, ND; grandson, Scott and his wife, Rachel, of Jamestown; granddaughter, Sheri Shanklin, and husband, Nathan, of Waconia, MN and two great-grandsons, Max and Kilian Shanklin.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM,Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel in Jamestown with Pastor Darren Purdy officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
