Ida Rott, 91, went to be with her loving Savior, Monday, February 6, 2012 at Eventide Hi-Acres in Jamestown.
Ida was born August 25, 1920 in Tuttle, ND to John and Rosenna Wetzel. She grew up in Tuttle and attended and graduated from Tuttle School. She moved to Jamestown and worked at the Jamestown Café where she met Walter Rott. They got married on September 24, 1944. She spent 25 years working at the North Dakota State Hospital. She retired in December of 1990. She was an active member of the Jamestown Evangelical Church.
Ida's passions were gardening, growing flowers, and baking. She was particularly known for her apple pies and chocolate chip cookies, which were the best according to her family and friends. Much of her time, after retiring, was spent with her grandchildren. She was a godly role model to them and they loved spending time at her house exploring outside and eating her wonderful cooking.
Ida is survived by her son, John (Sue) Rott, Jamestown; 4 grandchildren, Dr. Chris (Penny) Rott, Grand Rapids, MI, Tim (Amy) Rott Portals, NM, Aundrea Rott, Fargo, ND, and Chandlar Rott; Jamestown; foster-grandchild, D?Montre Bauer; two sisters, Rosenne Wong, Minneapolis, MN and Leona Schields, Dodge, ND.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walt; infant daughter Rose; parents; three brothers and three sisters.
