Ida Thompson, 88, Jamestown, North Dakota died Sunday, November 23, 2003 at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown. Ida Lange was born August 8, 1915 in Sykeston, North Dakota the daughter of Carl and Lydia (Schiele) Lange. She grew up in the Sykeston area on her parent's farm and attended Lowery Township schools. Ida married Usher Thompson on October 28, 1933 in Jamestown. He passed away October 25, 1973. They lived in the Woodworth and Pingree areas and moved to Jamestown in 1941. Ida worked as a nurses aide for many years at Hi-Acres Manor and Central Dakota Nursing Homes until retiring in 1977. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown. Ida was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing this with her family. She also enjoyed crocheting and visiting with family and friends.

Ida is survived by her five sons; Roger (Marge), Arlis and James (Jan) all of Jamestown, Duane (Sandy) of Bend, OR and Jerome (Donna) of Everett, WA; one brother, Carl Lange, Rapid City, SD; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father; husband; an infant daughter, Carmen; four brothers, William, Clarence, Edward and Raymond; five sisters, Selma Schultz, Alma Kowalczyk, Verna Eichele, Velma Durmont and Margie Rowe and one daughter-in-law, Shirley Thompson.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Dennis Ellingsen and Rev. Doug Opp officiating.

Visitation: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
